Ari Roar (Caleb Campbell) recorded half of his EP entitled "Patch Me Up" in his Dallas garage apartment during a particularly hot Texas summer. Still new to the producer seat, he absorbed whatever techniques he could by asking friends and skipping through the many long and useless intros for how-to videos on YouTube. Now that tracking was nearly done, it was probably a good time to get some studio speakers.

Campbell enlisted the help of his friend and all around indie star wonder drummer McKenzie Smith for the tracks "Take Me Over" and "The Ointment". Smith had just finished setting up a new studio at his home in Denton, TX called Redwood Studios and laid down the drum tracks there with Joey McClellan engineering. Campbell finished mixing the songs and soon moved to Miami Beach where he would record and mix the tracks "Dove" and "Karate Again", this time he couldn't resist the fun of trying to play the drums himself. He would use the mixer of his old Tascam 388 to capture the drum sounds favoring it's dark round presence. Taking periodic breaks to stroll the lizard infested Miami Beach sidewalks, he completed mixing during a particularly hot Florida winter.
